Goals and Purpose: The Environment and Art Committee works to create a special atmosphere in the church for worship throughout the liturgical year. We lovingly decorate the church throughout the year so as to provide a fit, hospitable, soulmoving and thought-provoking place to meet Christ in the Eucharist and in one another.
Responsibilities: Those participating in environment and art collaborate with the coordinator and the director of liturgy and worship. This is a seasonal ministry, meaning that we convene as needed to prepare the church in anticipation of each liturgical season (Advent, Christmas, Ordinary Time, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost) and for special liturgical events such as evening prayer, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. We are also called to break down after each season and set up for the next.
Helpful Attributes: We seek those who wish to lend a helpful hand. Cooperation and an ability to work cheerfully in collaboration with others is a must. We also invite artists and
artisans out there to come forward and share your God-given talents with your brothers and sisters.
Time Commitment: Our planning season begins in late September and we’re busy decorating from late October through the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. In late January, we meet to plan for Lent through Easter and find ourselves busiest during the events and liturgies of Holy Week, culminating in Holy Saturday preparations for the Great Vigil of Easter.

Guidelines for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Goals and Purpose: We do what we do for two reasons: to please God by leading the faithful to a fuller, more complete participation in the Mass through music and to raise our voices and talents to move the assembly in such a way as to inspire, thereby enriching the community’s worship experience.
Responsibilities: Those participating in music ministry are expected to commit to weekly rehearsals and participate in a weekend liturgy as well as holy days and special feasts throughout the year. Music ministers are expected to keep their music in order and bring their music to rehearsals and Mass.
Helpful Attributes: An ability to read or at least follow music is helpful as is an ability to carry a tune.
Time Commitment: Our season begins in mid-August and extends through the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ in late spring, though all are encouraged and welcomed to join at any time. During the season, we rehearse weekly. Our Traditional choirs minister at both the 4:00 p.m. vigil and the 9:00 a.m. Our Contemporary Ensemble, led by John Edel, ministers at the 6:00 p.m. vigil and the 11:30 a.m. Music Ministry choirs recess from
June through mid-August for summer break.
Training Requirement: None. We learn technique as we rehearse our music!
