Goals and Purpose: We do what we do for two reasons: to please God by leading the faithful to a fuller, more complete participation in the Mass through music and to raise our voices and talents to move the assembly in such a way as to inspire, thereby enriching the community’s worship experience.

Responsibilities: Those participating in music ministry are expected to commit to weekly rehearsals and participate in a weekend liturgy as well as holy days and special feasts throughout the year. Music ministers are expected to keep their music in order and bring their music to rehearsals and Mass.

Helpful Attributes: An ability to read or at least follow music is helpful as is an ability to carry a tune.

Time Commitment: Our season begins in mid-August and extends through the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ in late spring, though all are encouraged and welcomed to join at any time. During the season, we rehearse weekly. Our Traditional choirs minister at both the 4:00 p.m. vigil and the 9:00 a.m. Our Contemporary Ensemble, led by John Edel, ministers at the 6:00 p.m. vigil and the 11:30 a.m. Music Ministry choirs recess from June through mid-August for summer break.

Training Requirement: None. We learn technique as we rehearse our music!

Fingerprinting Required: No
