The Consolation Ministry was established in 2023 to walk with and assist those in our parish who have lost a loved one. Once notified by the church office, the Consolation Ministry assists families with the funeral process, including making arrangements with the funeral director if they need support. Our ministry members will meet with the family to select funeral Mass readings, readers, and gift bearers. Once funeral arrangements are made, ministry members will meet with the family to see if they can assist at the visitation, before Mass, with a rosary, or Divine Mercy prayer. Our ministry members will be there the day of the funeral and will follow up with the families after the funeral to see what assistance they may need. We have several local counseling meetings available free of charge that we will pass on to the families if needed.
